Seven raffle players have kept the flag flying high for India by becoming the fortunate winners of The Big Ticket raffle draw in Abu Dhabi. The main prize of AED 7 million was won in Monday’s draw by expat Thansilas Babu, who has lived in the UAE for 26 years. To top that great result off another six Indian nationals each won a very handsome AED 100,000 each.

“They have to keep trying and eventually it will be their day, I am an example of that, I have been taking part in raffle draws including the Big Ticket for a long time until I finally won, if I lost hope then I wouldn’t have won AED 7 million today.” Not a bad way to start the week!
The $560 million Mystery Continues...
Back over in New Hampshire, USA, the secretive winner of Powerball has finally claimed her prize, although the person had to do it through her legal team, so as to keep her anonymity. The legality of the winner’s right to privacy is still being challenged, as the person did sign the back of the ticket, which in effect granted the lottery organisers the right to publicise any jackpot winner. A judge has now ruled that the winner may claim their prize while the case is being decided. “She realizes how lucky she is,” said her lawyer, William Shaheen. “My client doesn’t want any accolades, she doesn’t want any credit. She just wants to do good things.” The winnings after tax come to approximately $256 million and the nameless winner has already donated $250,000 to non-profit organisations.
UK EuroMillions Winner to Stay Anonymous
Last month’s UK based winner of the amazing £77 million Euromillions jackpot claimed their prize last Friday but decided to remain anonymous, and so further information about the winner will not be released. The Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, Andy Carter said: "It is great to be able to help this ticket-holder celebrate their amazing life-changing prize. They are the tenth biggest winner this country has ever seen and we will now support them as they begin to enjoy their stunning win”.

The Powerball in the USA just keeps growing and could win you a colossal ₹25,067 million if you won the jackpot prize, while the UK Lotto top prize is now a juicy ₹705 million. The EuroMillions draw on Friday stands at €50 million and over on the Emerald Isle the Irish Lotto jackpot is €4 million.
