Karnataka National Scoops $1 Million in Dubai
On November 19th, the Dubai lottery was drawn at the Dubai Airshow Site in Dubai World Central, and it was a great day for two Indian nationals. Firstly, 48-year-old Louis Stephen Martis won the one million dollar jackpot on Series 316. And then in the DDF Finest Surprise draw, Robert Peter Martin won an Adrenalinic Silver motorbike.
Louis Martis, a native of the city of Bengaluru, Karnataka, had been playing the DDF raffle regularly for five months before his win, and always used the number 666 on his tickets, which he bought online. “This time I got lucky,” said Louis Martis. “This is the best news I ever received in my life! I always knew lady luck would shine on me one day, and I happy that it finally came true. This is indeed a wonderful blessing for my family.”
The father of two has been living in the UAE for 25 years, where he runs his own software company in Abu Dhabi. He explained how he would use his winnings, saying: “We have been blessed. The money will be put to good use. 10 per cent will go to charity while the remaining will save for my children’s education and some investments."
The other Indian winner, Robert Peter Martin, won a silver Aprilia Dorsoduro motorbike on the Finest Surprise draw, Series 387. Robert Martin now lives in Dubai, and had the winning ticket number 0509, making the third day of the Dubai Airshow 2019 a great day for two Indian nationals. Raffle organisers have so far not been able to contact Robert Martin, so he has an amazing surprise waiting for him when they do!
